Lord Montreuil of Guilford
“MONTY”
Birth Name: Joey
02/20/04 I received an email from Monty’s owners today along with some pictures. Below you will see a part of the email that explains in his new owner’s words better than I could ever tell you how Monty is doing or how he came to get his name. You will also see some pictures of Monty that was supplied by his new family. A special thanks to Monty’s family for sending the pictures. You can tell that Monty is loved and cared for. Thanks so very much for allowing one of my babies to become a member of your family. Thanks for taking your time to send the email and take pictures of Monty for us to see.
Following is a portion of the emailed:
“We have renamed Joey. His proper name is Lord Montreuil of Guilford, and we all call him "Monty." Obviously there is a story behind the name that is meaningful to my wife and I. In 1995, we housed a Professional hockey player, a young, French speaking Canadian with the last name of Montreuil. When he came to live with us, he spoke no English; and, we spoke no French. We purchased a French-English dictionary, and over the next 2 years, he learned some "southern" English, and we learned a little French. An interesting situation, a young 19 year old making more money than I, could buy his own house, but wanted to live with a family. The two years was a rewarding experience and we have visited him and his family several times in both Montreal and Quebec, Canada. Because of this warm relationship, we named our Sheltie after him.
Today, Monty visited the vet for his next round of vaccinations, etc. He is quite healthy and weighed a whopping 8.3 lbs today. Frisky, playful, and simply beautiful. His training is progressing well and takes walks daily since we are having some good weather now. My wife recently had a stroke and the daily walks provides just the right therapy for her as she progresses.
Yesterday we received the registration for Monty from the AKC; and, today received his Certified Pedigree in the mail. Many thanks for your help and the information you provided to us at the time we got Monty from you. Our experience with you and Southern Sunset Kennels was highly professional and top notch. “

Quote “Monty was neutered last week and is doing fine. We had it done at the vet in front of Bi-Lo on Wendover Avenue in Greensboro (the name escapes me) and we were thrilled at their care. I'd recommend them highly.
Thanks so much for your continued interest in Monty. Our life has changed so much since he's been with us.” unquote.

Email received from Monty’s family on 02/15/05:
“Thought I'd send you the most recent pic of our Monty--14 months old today, a young man now? Tell the kids he still knows how to sit and shake--they taught him at the tender age of 6 or 7 weeks. I'm going to bring him for a visit and let them teach him not to bark at every moving thing! He's spoiled and eats only when he's offered something he has an appetite for that day, but it's our fault. We love him so...................”
Email Update from Monty’s family on 09-17-06; “Wanted to update you with a pic I just took of our Monty. He's a young man now, nearing his third birthday on December 15. Does that mean he's of age now? We love him more every day; can hardly stand to leave him to go to dinner. He is so loving, so smart, and so laid back it's scary. He's only upset by low airplanes, squirrels, and thunder. Sleeps as long as we will in the a.m. (after his 6 a.m. potty trip outside). Thank you so much for blessing our lives with him.. . . . . . . “
